Welcome to my site. I’m Dennis Bell, and I’m the Owner-Driver of the flamed red 1992 Mustang GT Drag Radial car you see here. I would like to thank you for visiting the site, and would encourage you to check out the various links. This site is new, so check back often as I plan to develop it into a site that is informational and hopefully helpful to someone who wants to get into this thing we call Radial Tire Drag Racing. From here…I’d like to share a little about myself.
I am 48 years old, and live in Southeast Texas, in a small city called Bridge City. I am married to a beautiful woman named Darla Kaye. She supports and helps the racing program in every way. And believe me, there’s more than anyone would believe, just to show up at a National Event. I choose to run in the National Mustang Racing Associations (NMRA) BF Goodrich Drag Radial class. Along with some of the local races, this is a full schedule to keep.
I started racing, like most, as soon as I could get my hands on something with a motor. The first “real” racing I got into was local stuff racing a VW sand rail. I started out with a homemade rail, and then eventually graduated up to lighter/faster frame. Then came the 3-wheeler and 4-wheeler Speedway racing, and of course Motocross. But I always wanted to get into the faster V8 scene.
I attended a Fun Ford Weekend event close to my home, in Houston, Texas. After watching Big Daddy Gutridge run on radial tires, I knew what I wanted to run. I happened onto a mint condition 1992 Mustang GT a friend wanted to sell. I bought it and started the bolt-on routine. After getting the car into the low 11’s, I decided if I was going to go faster, I needed to have the proper safety bars in place. I then sought out a chassis builder and built the car you see here on the site. Some things we did good…and some we could have done better. As with anything, getting started is the hardest part. We’ll keep evolving with the sport, making changes where we need to, to be competitive.
This is our first year out with the car, so 2008 is our Rookie Season. We are always looking for areas to improve, but as always money is the limiting factor. So if you’re a company that’s looking to promote your products, and you’re looking for a venue to reach millions of racing fans, please use the contacts listed to reach us. If you are a racer looking for info or parts, check out our links. Please feel free to contact us with any question or comments. We welcome them all!
We hope to see you at the tracks!
